We are pleased to share that Resshaya Murukesu, Research Fellow at TUMCREATE and a member of the Translational Sensory and Circadian Neuroscience (tSCN) unit, has been selected for the Female Science Talents Intensive Track 2026, a prestigious year-long programme by the Falling Walls Foundation, supported by The Elsevier Foundation, Bayer Foundation, and Volkswagen Stiftung.
The 2026 cohort was selected through an exceptionally competitive global process, with only 20 participants chosen from 629 highly qualified applicants worldwide. This distinction reflects both the strength of Resshaya’s research profile and her leadership potential within the field of healthy ageing and preventive medicine. The Female Science Talents Intensive Track brings together early-career women scientists from diverse disciplines and regions to strengthen leadership capacity, science communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration, while fostering a strong international peer network.
For Resshaya, participation in this programme represents an important milestone in her professional development. Her research focuses on translating health science into real-world, community-based interventions to promote healthy ageing, including her current work on the LightSPAN project. She views this opportunity as a platform to further develop leadership skills, expand global perspectives, and engage with women scientists navigating similar academic and translational pathways.
